50 Tyson Says He Paved the Way for Lil Uzi Vert, Ugly God and Lil Yachty [Watch]

Former Internet sensation and aspiring rapper 50 Tyson, who went viral with his minute long freestyle video, says that new school rappers need to pay homage.

In the radio interview, Tyson states that if it wasn’t for him putting in the work, with his viral video, the new school rappers wouldn’t have the possibility to become famous off of video posts. He also states that his particular style of rap laid the foundation for the new artists who have been “biting his style” without giving credit.

“I opened the door and paved the way to Internet viral stars, like Lil’ Yachty, Ugly God, Lil’ Uzi Vert, 21 and  22 Savages and all of them,” Tyson said. ” I feel like if it wasn’t for me starting the wave, they probably wouldn’t be where they are right now.”

Tyson also said despite the lack of attention, he’s still grinding and doing features for other artists while looking for a deal.

“I am not currently signed to a major label right now, but I am doing features that range anywhere from $500 to $2500,” Tyson said. “I am also working on the movie front as well. I am working on doing something with Kevin Hart, it’s not official yet but that is what I have planned.”
