A Tribe Called Quest Releasing Final Album on November 11th

Q-Tip and A Tribe Called Quest

Q-Tip sent out a note to A Tribe Called Quest fans yesterday and revealed that the iconic group’s final album will be released on November 11th. With the untimely passing of Phife Dawg on March 22nd, Q-Tip also revealed that the project was already in the making and won’t be old Phife verses spliced in between the tracks. The Abstract stated,

“No this isn’t filled with old Phife bars. This is the pure, unstepped on pure!!!”

Consequence and Busta Rhymes also join Q-Tip, Jarobi and Ali Shaheed Muhammad in the making of this upcoming finale of A Tribe Called Quest. Read the letter from Q-Tip below.

In related Tribe news, the legendary Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest will be honored posthumously on November 19 when a portion of  Linden Boulevard at 192nd Street in Queens, NY will be renamed “Malik ‘Phife Dawg’ Taylor Way.” The intersection marks the spot where A Tribe Called Quest shot their video for their classic single “Check The Rhyme.”

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio officially signed the bill  in August after Phife Dawg passed away in March after a long fight with diabetes.
