Ab-Soul Gets Psychedelic With “Womanogamy” Video, Gets Praised By Lupe Fiasco [Watch]

The Black Lip Pastor, Ab-Soul has officially dropped the new music video for his track, “Womanogamy,” off of his long awaited sophomore album Do What Thou Wilt.

The trippy video, directed by Yellow Nguyen, opens with Soulo rolling up to the club in a fancy car, cutting the line for an evening of festivities with scantily clad women. Left outside of the party, a group of local guys trying to convince strip club security guards that they know Ab-Soul in an attempt to gain entrance, as Ab-Soul relaxes inside.

Soulo’s DWTW was one of the most lyrically sound album’s of 2016. Just last week, the TDE general released the remix to noteworthy track, “D.R.U.G.S.” featuring fR€$H. Both “D.R.U.G.S,” and “Womanogamy” follow singles “Huey Knew THEN,” featuring Da$h, “Threatening Nature,” “RAW (Backward),” and the Bas-assisted “Braille.”

Despite critical acclaim, Soulo hoped on Twitter Thursday (Jan. 6) looking for a review from none other than fellow lyricist Lupe Fiasco.

Lupe peeped the request and happily obliged. In his review, Lupe praises Ab-Soul calling the album, “a master of form”.

“With this understanding of language, he elevates the common and the banal to a kind of high ornamental vulgarity fit for the average Joe,” Lupe writes. “But it’s when he brings this skill set to subjects of the socially esoteric and the hermeneutical that AbSoul IT’s alchemical mastery shines and impresses, questioning the roots of social quo and provoking re-examination of the source with ease and experience.”
