adidas Football and Snoop Dogg today revealed the 2017 adizero 5-Star 6.0 Snoop cleats. Designed in collaboration with Snoop, adidas’ Director of Football Development, these special edition cleats were inspired by Snoop’s song “Suited N Booted.”
Coach Snoop Dogg said,
“Some of my main passions are music, fashion, football and helping the next generation of kids for the future. Working with adidas Football to design a cleat that blends all these elements was a no-brainer and our new cleats showcase how we’re evolving the cleat game and truly fusing sports and culture.”
From tailored suits, to pocket squares, to custom suit linings, to socks, the 2017 adizero Snoop cleats take visual cues from athletes as they enter the stadium suited and booted for game day.
Modeled after Snoop’s dress shoes, the 2017 adizero 5-Star 6.0 Snoop cleats feature gator-like materials and the colorway is specifically based off of his white and gold jewelry collection. To add some top-to-bottom styling details, Snoop worked with adidas designers to create a custom lace jewel that was inspired from the hood ornaments on luxury cars and added gold flecks on the shoelaces to match the gold plates on the cleats.
Blending style with performance, the 2017 adizero 5-Star 6.0 Snoop cleats are designed with lightweight, flexible gator-texture materials. The new lightweight single-construction SPRINTFRAME plate features an external heel counter and strategically placed SPRINT studs, along with a forefoot rotational traction zone for the optimum blend of speed and traction.
For the final touches, “Suited” and “Booted” are featured on money-themed bands and Snoop’s lyrics are featured on the sockliner – “The cleanest, the meanest, I know that’s right. And don’t get to close cause these gators bite.”
Additionally, Snoop drafted a note that reflects the mantra that his youth football teams chant before every game, and that note is printed on the inside of every box of 2017 adizero 5-Star 6.0 Snoop cleats.
Snoop’s influence in the football community, is exemplified by the youth football league, Snoop Youth Football League, he started over a decade ago in Los Angeles. Through the league, he has championed thousands of kids to be better citizens on and off the field by providing a positive environment for them to learn the skills they need to excel in life.
