A Bathing Ape is prepping for the release of its autumn/winter collections for men and women, due on July 8. Until then, the BAPE- crazed are keeping busy browsing all of next season’s looks, posted online now.
Camouflage reigns supreme when it comes to BAPE in general. And last year, it dominated in the men’s section for colder months, with the vast majority of items created with its traditional green and brown shades. But with AW17 Men’s, camo shares just a bit more of the spotlight. There are definitely more striped, animal-printed and solid-colored items than last time—adding variety to the collection of bomber jackets, sweats, pullovers, long-sleeved shirts, coats, matched sets and denim. Plus, designers for the ladies dipped into flannel a little. And with looks like BAPE Men’s bold blue tracksuit with stripes, the streetwear brand can definitely make do without one of its staples.
But if you just can’t imagine yourself in BAPE sans camo, the selection isn’t scarce. This year’s items undertake a multicolored camouflage look, more daring than what we’ve seen for SS17 and AW16. For example, both AW17 Men’s and Women’s have matched sets with tops and bottoms each hitting every color in the spectrum. Individual items play with camouflage made up of shades of gray, green, pink, orange, or blue.
