The 2017 BET Awards Weekend may have come to an end, but our style awards are just getting started. Here at GRIP Magazine, we narrowed down the best and boldest looks in this year’s BET Awards fashion.
ALL-AROUND WINNERS
Cocoa butter and couture manifested itself at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. While some of Black Hollywood boasted the hottest trends in beauty and fashion, others dared to risk it all on the red carpet.

Dreezy went for the gold, courtesy of Philipp Plein. The rapper’s streetwear look, paired with gold chains and Versace heels, dominated all else.

Yara Shahidi was the denim queen of your dreams. The Black-ish star and YoungStars Award recipient ruffled up some distressed jean fabric for a chic sleeveless dress—complemented with some big ‘ole hoops and curls, of course.

Big Sean got the moves in wine-colored velvet co-ords from Bally and Gucci sneakers. Clean and comfy, Sean Don breezed down the carpet before changing for his show performance.

The self-proclaimed “awkward black girl” was anything but, on Sunday. In a multi-colored wrap top by Balmain, Issa Rae foiled the silver carpet beneath her simple strappy heels before brightening the stage as a presenter.
There was no parallel for Nigerian DJ Spinall’s suit game this weekend—from brocade maroon during the BET Experience to velvet forest green during the actual awards ceremony. Can’t forget to mention his boater hat!

Reginae Carter dazzled in a matched set crop top and mini-skirt. A play on plaid, she spiced up black leather co-ords with gold and and black beaded fringe.

French Montana’s coat was as unforgettable as his performance with Swae Lee. He had it all: colorblocking, graphics, prints, and embroidery. And the embellished outerwear topped a simple white shirt and jeans, plus layers of gold chains.
