Comedic legends Bill Bellamy, Bruce Bruce and Luenell along with comedy newcomer DC Young Fly brought the funnies to the 10th Annual Memorial Day Comedy Festival.

The one-day event which took place in Miami over Memorial Day weekend was packed with laughs and so much more. GRIP Magazine got a chance to visit the comedic hitmen backstage to discuss how they keep the funny and who’s really got the most jokes.

“In comedy, it’s not about time in, but timing,” Bill Bellamy said. “Some cats have been doing it 30 years and sh*t bomb or you can do it one day and make it bigger than everybody, that’s why this field is all about timing. I remember when Chris Tucker was opening for me and he would always say, ‘I’m tired of this, people not knowing me,’ then one day boom he’s blown.”

The crew also discussed why Netflix may be the new hot spots for veteran comedians to do things their way.

“Netflix is taking over, everyone is going over there. Seinfeld is going over there even Ellen; that is the new place for the big dogs.”
