Bill Cosby Sets Plans to Tour to Educate Youth on Sexual Assault

Less than a week after being cleared of aggravated indecent assault charges due to a mistrial, Bill Cosby announced via his spokesperson that 79-year-old comedian will be a series of town halls about sexual assault and the legal system.

Cosby spokesman Andrew Wyatt told Good Day Alabama that the town halls could start as soon as next month and that Cosby wanted to speak specifically to “athletes” and “married men.”

“Mr. Cosby wants to get back to work. We are now planning town halls, and we’re going to be coming to this city sometime in July,” Wyatt said.

“To talk to young people. Because this is bigger than Bill Cosby. This issue can affect any young person, especially young athletes of today. And they need to know what they’re facing when they’re hanging out and partying, when they’re doing certain things that they shouldn’t be doing. And it also affects, you know, married men.”

Cosby’s trial ended after a Pennsylvania jury was unable to make a unanimous decision. After six days of deliberations, Judge Steven O’Neill declared that the jury of seven men and five women was deadlocked.

Unfortunately for Cosby, he is not completely out of the woods. At a news conference after court, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said prosecutors will “evaluate and review our case” and retry Cosby.

“Our plan is to move this case forward as soon as possible,” he said.
