Name: Casanova
Reppin’: Brooklyn, New York
Genre: Rap

Don’t let the name fool you. Brooklyn MC Casanova definitely seems like more of a fighter than a lover. While there have been talks of this rapper and that rapper bringing New York City back to the rap forefront, the current stable of young Big Apple artists – including the likes of Young M.A, Dave East and A Boogie – seem to be making the most push in a while. Cas is scrapping for his chance to be part of that number as well.

Prior to rapping, Casanova was content hugging the block on the rough and tumble streets of Flatbush, where his crimes eventually led to him serving a stint at Riker’s Island.

After failing to keep a legit gig when he got out of prison, he decided to try his hand at rapping in 2016.

Though on the rap scene for less than a year, the 29-year-old neophyte spitta garnered a huge buzz in the Empire State with the hard-body single “Don’t Run,” which was released last June. On the gutter NY Bangers-produced cut, Nova raps about getting the drop on his enemies.

The bubbling single landed the newbie a deal on Memphis Bleek’s Warehouse Music Group, which is under the Roc Nation umbrella. The recently released remix to the track added more fuel to the blaze and features Young M.A, Dave East, Don Q and Fabolous.

Though Casanova’s name is popping like rat traps in project buildings, there is still much to prove. He has yet to drop a tape and only has a few songs out. However, he’s not lacking for confidence. “I’ma be the next 50 Cent,” he told XXL in a recent interview. “I haven’t seen him get bullied, you know. I know nobody’s never gonna bully me. And I’m gonna piss a lotta people off in this industry. I could see me doing everything he did and succeeding. I believe that I’m something these certain rappers are not.”
