You can tell by his name, Nate Millyunz isn’t here for the small change. With his latest project, Waves 2 EP, recently making a splash, the Minnesota MC/songwriter is surfing closer to being the next big thing to pop out of the Midwest.
Born, Nathan Mills, in Tennessee, Nate was first a fan of alternative music before forming a love for hip-hop when he moved to Minnesota as a kid. Is was there he honed his skills as a witty rhyme slinger.
His coming out party was the The Distress Kit in 2014. He followed that up with the Waves EP and then released 50 Shades in 2015. He added the project Evening Star Way in 2016. Along the way, Nate has worked with and shared stages with the likes of French Montana, Dizzy Wright, Chris Webby, Machine Gun Kelly and others.
Proving his love for the Twin Cities, last October he dropped the track, “Kings of the North,” an ode to the hometown NFL team Minnesota Vikings. The anthem generated spins on local radio stations and endeared the lyrical spitta to a whole new audience.
After putting on for his city, he capitalized off buzz by dropping his new EP, Waves 2, in March. The project landed at No. 48 on iTunes’ Hip-Hop/Rap chart.
