Earlier this month, CeeLo Green was presented with a surprise award for his outstanding songwriting efforts by BMI Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations Catherine Brewton during the BMI “Know Them Now” showcase in Atlanta, Ga.
Held at Terminal West, one of Atlanta’s premiere music venues, local music lovers enjoyed a night of performances, mingling and networking. KP The Great kept the crowd hype all night, mixing some of the BMI artists’ music as well as a few of his own personal favorites.
Fellow Dungeon Family member Big Gipp Of Goodie Mob, joined KP on stage as the host and emcee. Acts like Sonny Digital, Minus Gravity, Good Girl, SahBabii and YFN Lucci all graced the stage in between KP’s sets, performing some of their hit songs.
After CeeLo accepted his award, he prompted KP to play some Goodie Mob music. Gipp then joined Green on stage to perform the classic hit “Black Ice.” KP then surprised the crowd with an impromptu performance by CeeLo, of his chart-topping record, “Crazy”, which sent the crowd in to a frenzy.
