Chance the Rapper rides hard for the shorties in Chicago and held a press conference on Monday, May 7, where he donated $1 million of his own money to the Chicago Public School Foundation.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama was also impressed by Chance’s gift of love and Tweeted,
Thanks @chancetherapper for giving back to the Chicago community, which gave us so much. You are an example of the power of arts education.

Chance the Rapper also met with Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner last week to discuss funding options, which he described as “vague” and “unsuccessful.
During the press conference at Wescott Elementary school, Chance said,
“Our kids should not be held hostage because of political positioning.”
Chance also revealed that a lot of the money was earned through ticket sales from his upcoming tour, and thanked his fans for helping to make the gift possible. Not stopping there, the Chicago rapper also raised the bar with a challenge that for every $100,000 raised, his nonprofit, SocialWorks, will donate an additional $10,000 to a specific school.
Chance and his OG Common have also been in talks about raising more money for the inner city schools and creating programs for the youth in Chicago.
Salute!!!!
