Childish Gambino has finally confirmed the release of his suspected music return via Twitter.
On Wednesday (Nov. 9th) Gambino tweeted out the official cover art for Awaken, My Love! solidifying earlier reports of his long-awaited return to music in December.

As previously reported, after a sleuthing Reddit user discovered an advertisement at FYE that showed Childish Gambino releasing an album in December and the release also appeared on Amazon Canada for preorder, fans grew antsy about the then possible release.
Further adding to the speculation, earlier in September at his camping music event Pharos at Joshua Tree, Gambino previewed new music to select fans after revealing to Jimmy Fallon that, “I have all these songs and I want people to feel like it felt to be in them.”
Although no further details have been released about the album regarding tracklistings and possible features, fans can expect nothing short of genius, when it comes to a project from Childish Gambino.
Awaken, My Love! is slated to drop December 2nd and will be Gambino’s first project in two years, with his previous projects STN MTN and Kauai both dropping on consecutive days in October of 2014.
In other Donald Glover news, Atlanta wrapped up a stellar first season earlier this month. The groundbreaking show has already been picked up for a second season after setting a new record for viewership for a cable comedy series premiere, with 1.8 million total viewers.
