Cuba Gooding, Sr., the father of actors Cuba Gooding Jr. and Omar Gooding was found dead in his parked silver Jaguar Thursday afternoon in San Fernando Valley, California reports TMZ.
According to TMZ, the fire department was called to the scene shortly before 1 p.m. on Thursday (April 21) and performed CPR, but Gooding Sr. could not be resuscitated. The cause of his death is unknown at this time, but TMZ believes it could be a possible overdose.
Cuba Gooding Sr. was a soul musician and was part of the 1970s Grammy-nominated soul group The Main Ingredient. Their most famous song was the hit “Everybody Plays the Fool.” Some of The Main Ingredient’s other hits included “Just Don’t Want To Be Lonely,” “HappinessIs Just Around the Bend” and “Rolling Down a Mountainside.”
Gooding Sr. and his longtime wife, Shirley, had four children together. He was 72 years old. R.I.P. Cuba Gooding, Jr. also sent a message to his father on Instagram. R.I.P and our condolences to his family, friends and fans.
