Damian Marley New Part Owner of ‘High Times’ Magazine

Cookies and milk, chicken and waffles, the oldest son of Bob Marley, Damian, becoming part owner of High Times magazine. Some things just go well together.

According to TMZ, Marley via his newly public company Stony Hill is one of 20 new investors who recently purchased controlling interest in the media company behind the magazine, valued at around $70 million.

High Times also had me daydreaming of so many beautiful strains that at the time I had not yet had the chance to experience,” he said in a statement. “It is now an honor to be a part of the High Times legacy that I’ve been a fan of for so many years.”

This is the first time the magazine has changed ownership since it was founded in 1974.

Marley’s new venture is only one of many in the marijuana industry, including a dispensary in the Denver Broncos’ Mile High Stadium and recently turning a California prison into a multi-million-dollar pot farm.

Marley isn’t the only celebrity capitalizing of legal marijuana. Wiz Khalifa has his own strain of weed called Khalifa Kush (also known as Wiz Khalifa OG or KK). Wiz’s strain can be found at “The Cookie Company.”

The Pittsburgh rapper also has released a new mobile game, Wiz Khalifa’s Weed Farm. Made possible by Warner Music Artist Services, a division of WMG that supports Atlantic Records in all non-music brand opportunities and released in partnership with Metamoki, a boutique game studio and pioneer in the free-to-play gaming industry, the premise for the game is simple: grow, harvest, reinvest.

Through the game, both Metamoki and Khalifa offer a glimpse into the future of legalized cannabis and the opportunities it has already created for a new generation of entrepreneurs and marijuana enthusiasts alike.

The game strives to create an authentic experience, capturing the state of the marijuana industry by seizing opportunities in entrepreneurial fashion, reinvesting into business, and compounding returns. In subsequent releases, the player will be able to expand their operations across the US and eventually the entire world as weed is legalized within the game.
