DJ Khaled is joining The Voice for its 12th season next month and will serve as Alicia Keys’ advisor. Keys spoke on the talent-breaking DJ and praised his ear during an interview with Extra, saying,

“I feel like it’s so incredible to have the diversity that I’m able to bring to the show, especially through Khaled. It’s not just about being a great performer, it’s about being a personality, for the energy that you bring to come out. I think that is what Khaled does very naturally.”

Khaled concurred, adding,

“If the room is dark, I’m the light bulb. I try to bring the best out of the people I work with… We gotta put it out there. We’re gonna do it. We’re gonna work hard. We’re gonna make it happen.”

Khaled’s not the only one with new keys to The Voice building as John Legend is being brought in as an advisor to Adam Levine, Celine Dion is teaming up with judge Gwen Stefani, and country star Luke Bryan is advising Blake Shelton. Check out the interview with Extra. The Voice returns on Feb. 27.
