Troubled Soul: DMX Checks Into Rehab after Canceling Tour Dates

DMX checked himself into a rehab facility Thursday night in southern California  just days after postponing several concert dates due to a “medical emergency.”

In a statement to TMZ, DMX’s manager Pat Gallo said,

“It is important right now that he take some time off to focus on his health so that he can be a better father, friend and entertainer. We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of concern and support that has poured in. We ask that you please keep X in your prayers as he embraces your support.”

As previously reported, DMX cancelled a show on Tuesday in Santa Ana, CA., a Wednesday night show in Los Angeles and a Thursday show in San Diego. Fans also posted on social media that X seemed out of it during his performance this past weekend at Barclay’s Center for the Ruff Ryders 20th Anniversary Concert in New York which also featured Swizz Beatz, The LOX, Eve, Cassidy and Drag-On.

X has battled alcohol and drug addiction in the past. His manager Pat Gallo and ex-wife Tashera Simmons played a huge role in getting the troubled MC to get help.

Prayers to the Dog as he gets his struggles in order.
