Dolly Parton Congratulates Beyoncé for Billboard No. 1 Country Song

In a ground-breaking musical achievement, sensational songbird Beyoncé soared to the top of the Billboard country songs chart with her latest single “Texas Hold ‘Em,” becoming the first Black female artist to claim the position. Praising Mrs. Carter on her momentous accomplishment, country music legend Dolly Parton took to Instagram to shower Beyoncé with praises over her success.


“I’m a big fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she’s done a country album,” the country music superstar wrote. “So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single. Can’t wait to hear the full album! Love, Dolly.”

“Texas Hold ‘Em” debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Feb. 20, coming in at No. 1 on the multimetric Hot Country Songs. “16 Carriages,” which also debuted on the same day, came in at No. 9, giving her two Top 10 entries.

The songs are from her upcoming album Renaissance Act II. The 42-year-old singer posted a video via Instagram on Feb. 11, announcing that the project is scheduled to be released on March 29.
