Childish Gambino is killing the small screen and now he will be taking over the big one.

According to published report, Donald Glover has just joined the cast of the highly-anticipated “Han Solo” film, playing the role of “Lando Calrissian.” Glover cast in the role, which was originally played by  Billy Dee Williams in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, was a “no brainer” according to Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

“We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us,” they said. “These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”

According to StarWars.com, the upcoming movie is still untitled and will feature Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo.

Gambino’s role behind-the-scenes and in front of the camera for “Atlanta” will reportedly not be compromised by his role in the film, though accommodations are being made to the series’ schedule as its second season gets underway.

The new Solo film is set to take place before The Empire Strikes Back and is scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2018.

Donald Glover, meanwhile, is having a great year. He organized the Pharos experience in Joshua Tree, California, received critical acclaim for “Atlanta,” finished filming Spider-Man: Homecoming, and welcomed his first child.
