Over the weekend, multi-talented artist, Donald Glover made a shocking announcement during his performance at the annual Governors Ball in New York. The actor/rapper/comedian announced that there will be only one more album released from Childish Gambino, his rap alias.

“There’s nothing worst than like a third sequel,” Glover said. “Like a third movie and we’re like, ‘Again?’ You know, I like it when something’s good and when it comes back, there’s a reason to come back, there’s a reason to do that.”

Glover has a long list of other things he is working on besides music  as his career in television and film is growing rapidly. He added,

“I feel like there’s gotta be a reason to do things and I always had a reason to be punk. Being punk just always felt really good to me and we always looked at ‘Atlanta’ as a punk show and I feel like the direction I would go with Childish Gambino wouldn’t be punk anymore. As much as ‘Redbone’ is a punk song because it’s a gospel song that’s on the radio, I’m like, ‘There’s only so far you can go before you just are the radio.’”

Donald Glover’s busy schedule also finds him gearing up to work on the second season of FX’s Golden Globe-winning series Atlanta. He is also working on  an animated Deadpool series, an untitled Han Solo Star Wars film, a reboot of The Lion King, and Spider-Man: Homecoming. With all that going on, we see why Childish Gambino has to take a nap for a minute but hopefully it won’t be forever.
