Drake Gets a Tattoo of Lil Wayne

Drake Gets a Tattoo of Lil Wayne

It’s been me and Young Tune off the rip. That’s the man that put me in this sh-t. No matter how Hollywood Drake’s career gets, he’ll never forget his Hollygrove homie, Lil Wayne, and how their November 18th meeting changed his life. While we’re used to Drizzy expressing his gratitude for his mentor in speeches and songs, the new tattoo of October’s Very Own undoubtedly screams Young Moola Baby!

Drake’s collection of inked celebrity portraits holds the likes of singers Sade and Aaliyah, and father Dennis Graham. The addition of Weezy solidifies a hip hop kinship dating before Champagne Papi’s So Far Gone EP in February 2009 where he commemorated his first impressions of Dwayne Carter in track “November 18.” Impressed with the Canadian after hearing his early work, Lil Wayne invited Drake to join his Tha Carter III Tour in 2008. But Drake did not officially become a part of Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment at Cash Money Records until mid-2009. He went on to release albums Thank Me Later, Take Care and Nothing Was the Same with the label. Besides as a featured artist for Drizzy’s projects, Lil Wayne executive-produced Thank Me Later and Take Care. Eight years later into their relationship, the duo has countless collaborations together. Both have achieved chart success with the help of one another, but lest we forget Tunechi is the one to aided Drake in significantly advancing in the music industry.

Drake will certainly remember forever and always, seeing how there’s a permanent symbol of his mentor sketched on his body. Smack-dab on the rapper’s triceps, the visage of Lil Wayne in a fitted cap resides. The Toronto native showed off his new tattoo nonchalantly in concert photography posted to Instagram. How ya feelin’ Drake’s new ink?
