Duckwrth is Taking on Social Injustice with New Single “Boy” [Listen]

L.A. emcee Duckwrth comes through with a new banger off his upcoming mixtape XTRA UUGLYy, which is due out later this year. The track “Boy” tackles social issues such as love, race, sex, and class. The track is produced by Alexander Spit and it serves as the perfect soundtrack for today’s social climate. Of his track “Boy”, Duckworth says “THIS SONG IS FOR the rebels, the tomboys, the emotional dudes, the skater girls, the ones who say FUCK Social Constructs. This is for you.”

Previously, Duckwrth dropped his debut album I’M UUGLY. The 9-track project featured songs like “I’m Dead” and “Rare Panther + Beach House” was released last year and solidified his position in the music industry. His music though hip hop is heavily inspired by funk and is said to be bringing the funk back into Hip-Hop.

During his interview with VIBE, the eclectic MC revealed that his first album actually was more than a title but a glimpse into his life.

“I’m not driving a Lamborghini or flexing. My music is my flex; my livelihood. I’m still up and coming. But within that, I’m going to make it beautiful as f**k,” the rapper says. And that’s exactly what I’M UUGLY is conceptual. “[I’M UUGLY is] painting this scene of euphoria while everything is still ugly around us. It’s kind of saying that’s not the end all to be all.”
