Ex-NBA Baller Sebastian Telfair Arrested for Weapons and Weed Possession

2004 Portland Trail Blazers first-round draft pick Sebastian Telfair along with another man was arrested on weapons and marijuana-related charges during a traffic stop early Sunday morning (June 11) in Brooklyn, NY, ESPN reports.

According to reports, police found  firearms, a semi-automatic rifle, ammunition, a ballistic vest and marijuana inside the vehicle. Telfair, 32, was arraigned Sunday night and released on $75,000 bail.

Telfair was the 13th overall pick in the 2004 NBA draft out of Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn. He had committed to the University of Louisville during his senior year, but decided to turn professional instead. Besides Portland, he also played with the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers and other teams before ending his career with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers in China in 2014.

Telfair was arrested in 2007 during a traffic stop after police found a loaded handgun in the vehicle. He pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon and was sentenced to three years on probation.
