Fabolous Receives the Key to Brooklyn [Watch Now]

Fabolous has been awarded a key to his native Brooklyn as his hard work in the community was recognized.

Fab received a key to Brooklyn during an Icon Talks ceremony last week and spoke on his success and his philanthropic efforts as friends like DJ Clue, Swizz Beatz, Wale, Ryan Leslie, Doug E. Fresh, and more looked on.

The event was held at the Grand Courtroom in Borough Hall in Brooklyn, NY, where the Young O.G. also received an Icon Award by Icon Talks founders John Hartsfield and Sharon Carpenter.

Swizz Beatz also spoke on his lyrical friend the night before during his speech at an Icon Talks dinner. During his praise, Swizz said of Fabolous,

“Congratulations to my brother Fab for being the secret weapon. I call him the secret weapon. He’s the secret weapon for fashion, the secret weapon for music, the secret weapon for creativity, he’s the secret weapon behind a lot of artists doing what they do today.”

March 9th 2017 I was honored by #IconTalks at Brooklyn Borough Hall and given their ICON Award for my entertainment & philanthrophy. I accept this award with the most humility knowing there is more to be done. But Im also proud to accept it on the 20th anniversary of the late great Christopher Wallace aka Biggie Smalls aka The Notorious B.I.G. aka BIG. BIG was our hometown hero who took Brooklyn all over the world with him but also showed us 1st hand that we could go from, in his words “from ashy to nasty to classy..” RIP to our fallen soldier your legacy will live with us forever. Told my bro @ryanleslie a quick car story over porsches… A guys girlfriend invited him to her house & when he got there he found his girlfriend’s sister there alone. So he sat with her sexy sister waiting for his girlfriend. After a few minutes the sister leaned over & whispered in his ear “we should have sex since my sister isn’t here”. The guy immediately jumps up and heads back to his car. When he opened the door to the house his girlfriend was standing in the door, hugged him & said he had earned her trust.
