Gucci Mane Describes Kicking His Addiction to Syrup, “Fixing” His Life, Bart Simpson Chain

Gucci Mane gave and honest and telling interview on ESPN’s Highly Questionable with Bomani Jones and Dan Le Batard, when he talked about “drying out” from lean, “fixing” his life and his $75,000 Bart Simpson chain.

“Drying out from drinking lean is probably the worst feeling in the world. It tears your body down,” he admitted. “It tears your mind down…its just terrible, terrible pain.

The East Atlanta rapper said that before going to prison, he “drank lean everyday, smoked blunts everyday…for six, seven years straight,” he said. “It was nonstop- smoking and drinking until I fell asleep. That was my life.”

During the interview, Gucci also revealed that during that same time at the height of his success, he was living with the paranoia of feeling that he may one day have to kill someone for trying to kill him. He also described how a book he read while in prison, As A Man Thikneth by James Allen, helped give him a new lease on life.

“I need to be totally sober. I need complete clarity. I need to be razor sharp, focused on everything I do.”
