“Insecure” is a comedy-drama series based partially on co-creator Issa Rae’s web series Awkward Black Girl. The show was created by Rae and Larry Wilmore, premiered online in 2016, via HBO Now and HBO Go.

The show is based around best friends, Issa (Issa Rae) and Molly (Yvonne Orji), who explore careers and relationships. Issa works at a non-profit for minority middle-school students and is in a relationship with Lawrence.

Molly is a successful attorney but can’t seem to find the right man.

As previously reported, Issa recently appeared in Jay-Z’s seven-and-a-half-minute “Moonlight” video along with Tiffany Haddish, Tessa Thompson, Lil Rel Howery, Lakeith Stanfield and Jerrod Carmichael, where they re-imagine an episode of the NBC hit series “Friends” with an all-Black cast.

The original episode titled “The One Where No One’s Ready” focused on Ross as he desperately tries to get the rest of the gang ready for a black tie event at the museum, but “Moonlight” takes a twist. Watch below.
