Residents of Texas have endured catastrophic damage in the wake Hurricane Harvey. Houston, the fourth largest city in the United States, has been hit the hardest with major flooding that has caused billions of dollars worth of damage and has left thousands without food or shelter.
Celebrities have been using their platforms to encourage their followers to come together and pledge their support for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Stars such as Houston natives Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland, Drake, Meek Mill and Common have all shared messages of love for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Canadian rapper Drake is said to be “working with local relief groups” while comedian Kevin Hart donated $25,000 to the Red Cross towards relief efforts and has publicly challenged his peers to do the same.
Take a look at some of the messages below. GRIP would like to send our thoughts and prayers to the city of Houston and all those affected by Hurricane Harvey. You can pledge your support by donating to the Red Cross or to local relief organizations.
We are currently overseas in London and all I can think about is how devastated I am as I look at images of the damage Hurricane Harvey has caused. I am praying for the safety of all those affected. Houston has truly been a home to me over the last 8 years. Myself and @futuretheprince are working with local relief groups to aid and assist the people of Texas in anyway we can and in the most immediate way possible. I also want to thank all the men and women of service and volunteers for their courageous efforts to help people in need. I encourage everyone to do what they can to assist the people of Texas knowing whatever effort you can make to help will go a long way.
