Is Nas Dropping New Album This Summer?

With anticipation for his tour with Lauryn Hill looming for the Fall, Nas recently hinted about a new album dropping by the end of the summer in an interview with the New York Times.

“Two weeks,” the Queens-born lyricist teases. “I always say I’m two weeks away from finishing.”

The interview took place as the rapper was picking beats for his upcoming project with friend an business associate John Seymour. As the two continued to sift through beats, one particular banger came through the speakers, causing both men to nod their heads.

“Oh, this is a knockout,” Nasir said.

“This is dope,” Seymour added.

“We coming out this summer, baby!” Nas yelled. “It’s going to be a hot summer up here, man!”

It has been five summer since Mr. Jones has released an album. His last project was 2012’s  Life Is Good.

As previously reported, Nas and Lauryn Hill recently announced their co-headlining tour. Produced by Live Nation, the incomparable music experience will lift off September 7 in Chicago, IL and feature special guests, comedian Hannibal Buress and reggae artist Chronixx, on various tour stops.
