J. Cole Calls Out the Baltimore Ravens for Not Signing Colin Kaepernick

During a recent stop in Baltimore for his 4 Your Eyez Only Tour, J. Cole used the stage to voice his concerns over the Baltimore Ravens’ decision to not sign Colin Kaepernick to a contract.

“Don’t you think that somebody that’s got money and power and fame should be standing up for that type of shit?,” the Fayetteville, NC native began his rant. “Baltimore, the type of shit that’s happening here, don’t you think that somebody should risk their whole livelihood and their whole life to talk about this shit? Even if it costs them their money, their job, their life? Don’t that sound like Colin Kaepernick?”

He continued, “Don’t that sound like what he’s doing? And he’s trying to come to Baltimore, the city that needs that shit, for real. And this ain’t none of my business, but I’m curious ’cause I got the stage. Are y’all still gone go to their games? You can go. You can do what you want. I’m just curious.”

The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour started off with 13 intimate U.S. shows and will continue on to larger Live Nation arenas in North America and the U.K. J. Cole will also visit fans in arenas and theaters throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand this fall.
Tickets are currently available and can be purchased at TicketMaster.com.

Cole also added members of his Dreamville Records family to the tour including Bas, J.I.D, and Ari Lennox. Bas rose to prominence with a duo of mixtapes, Quarter Water Raised Me and Quarter Water Raised Me II. In 2016 he released the album Too High to Riot, which includes a special guest appearance from Cole and debuted on the Billboard 200.

Following his successful EP DiCaprio, East Atlanta rapper J.I.D premiered his first album The Never Story this past spring. Ari Lennox most recently debuted PHO, a soulful 7 track EP.

Anderson .Paak will also join the tour on stops starting in mid-July. He released his long awaited second solo album Malibu at the beginning of 2016 to critical acclaim and the debut studio albumYes Lawd! as half of the duo NxWorries dropped last fall.
