J. Cole has partnered with HBO for the release of J. Cole: 4 Your Eyez Only, A Dreamville Film.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the documentary, which will feature musical performances from his album of the same name, shows footage of Cole visiting lower-income residents in Baton Rouge,  Atlanta, Ferguson, Missouri, and his hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

4 Your Eyez Only shows J. Cole capturing stories of lower-income residents to illustrate how their struggles over viable housing, voting laws for felons, integration, and more mirror the frustrations felt across the nation.

“So many of us are hurting and we’re confused and we’re angry,” says one of the men interviewed in the segment, while another says, “I’m going to do it because I can’t depend on those people, I can’t depend on them.”

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Scott Lazer, hopes that the documentary will “give context” to his recent release, stating, “You can’t really understand until you see the whole picture.”

J. Cole: 4 Your Eyez Only, A Dreamville Film makes Cole’s second documentary to be featured on HBO; his first, J. Cole Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming, dropped in early 2016 and included tour performance footage mixed in with behind-the-scenes moments of Cole and his crew.

4 Your Eyez Only, A Dreamville Film is produced by Tim Grant and executive produced by Cole, his manager Ibrahim Hamad (Ib), and Adam Roy Rodney. The doc will premiere on HBO on April 15 at 10 p.m. ET.
