You already know that after the party is the afterparty. But before all of that, there’s “The Let Out,” Jidenna’s homage to what many would say is the most important part of a night out— the shenanigans that happen just after leaving a party where anything can happen.
In the video, directed by Dano Cerny, Jidenna and crew mob from a family dinner to a fox hunt and turn the parking lot into the club after the club.
In anticipation of his debut project, Jidenna links up with the Migos’ Quavo (Who’s absent from the video) as the two go looking for ladies on the club popping “The Let Out.”
Jidenna has been making waves since he premiered his monstrous hit “Classic Man” nearly two years ago and is now gearing for the release of his debut project, The Chief, on Friday, Feb 17. The Chief will be released on Janelle Monáe’s Wondaland Records who also appears in the video.
On the track, The Classic Man spits,
“Yeah I’m running late so just meet me at the let out/ Y’all tryna get in but I’m tryna get out/ Niggas getting robbed get shot at the let out/ Heels in her hand while she leaving out the let out/ I’ma meet my mans at the mothafuckin let out/ Preying on a boss yeah a fox with her tail out/ Ooh I can’t wait, I can’t wait until they get out/ We be fresh as hell when we meet up at the let out.”
