Jidenna seems to have just gotten his heart broken as he shows his pain in his new video “Bambi.”
They say it is better to have loved and lost than never loved at all— and in Jidenna’s cinematic clip for the infectious afro-trap ballad “Bambi” off of his debut album The Chief, we see that familiar saying get put to the test.
Directed by Dano Cerny and featuring cameos by actress Megalyn Echikunwoke, known for her roles on CSI: Miami and Arrow, plus Jay Ellis from Issa Rae’s breakout hit show Insecure, the video weaves a compelling story of romance gone off the rails— you’ll just have to watch and see how this tale as old as time unfolds.
Jidenna’s debut album The Chief was released on Feb. 17th and features fellow Wondaland Records artists Janelle Monae, Roman Gianarthur, and St. Beauty.
Jidenna also released his ode to parking lot pimping last week with the visual “The Let Out.”
