[Exclusive Interview] Joe Gifted Discusses His Hit Single “Water,” Name Change and His New Deal with Warner Bros. Records [Watch Now]

Joe Gifted has taken over the clubs and the radio with his monstrous hit “Water” featuring Frontstreet. The Westside of Atlanta representer recently checked in with GRIP as he discussed his current rise and his future plans on the game.

Grinding for a minute, Joe explains why he switched his name from Joe Gutta to Joe Gifted as well as his jail stint which inspired him to focus mainly on his music once he was released. Focusing on the business, he also reveals his new signing with Warner Bros. Records and jumping from the indies to the majors. He explains,

“I changed my name because it was limiting me. Joe Gutta was me when I was younger and I did a lot of crazy stuff and ran with a lot of crazy people and it really messed up that name and I had to get away from it.

I felt like I outgrew that name and it was time to move on. So I came with Joe Gifted and I feel like it was a bigger stage name. It fitted me and sounded better because I rap, sing and make beats. Plus I’m blessed with a gift from God. I’m gifted and talented.”

Check the exclusive interview below as he also discusses his favorite Atlanta strip clubs and his upcoming project.
