Kanye West’s meeting with President-elect Donald Trump didn’t sit too well his homeboy R&B crooner John Legend. Speaking with French media outet Clique, Legend called Ye’s actions a publicity stunt.
Legend has been very vocal against Trump’s racist views and belives a dialogue can be had but yesterday’s meeting was stricly for the press. The “Glory” creator stated,
“I don’t think it’s impossible to talk to him [Donald Trump] about issues, but I won’t be used as a publicity stunt. I think Kanye was a publicity stunt. I’m pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump. I think Trump has been corrosive, his message has been corrosive to the country. I think the things he’s promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people, and for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing.”
John Legend also wasn’t feeling the reporter’s question when asked if Yeezy may have other goals when he spoke to the President-elect like posiible problems affecting the Black community but John wasn’t giving his G.O.O.D. music brother a break, adding,
“Whatever’s in his mind, I disagree with him.”
Kanye seems to care less what people are thinking and even had Trump sign his TIME Magazine cover and Tweeted what their discussion was about:
I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues.

These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago.

I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.

What are your thoughts? Does Kanye have a plan or was this all for show?
