Kanye West announced during his Saturday night show at Oakland’s Oracle Arena that he will not be at attendance at the Grammys in February if Frank Ocean is not nominated.
“The album I listen to the most this year is Frank Ocean’s album,” he says in a clip from the show. “If his album is not nominated in no categories, I’m not coming to the Grammys. As artists we gotta come together.”
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Ocean’s two 2016 albums, Blonde and Endless, were ineligible for consideration for this year’s Grammy Awards because they were not submitted within the deadline. But West wasn’t feeling that at all. Kicking off his rant, he compared the situation to Lady Gaga, for whom the Grammys were flexible about the dates in which her album and singles were released back in 2009 in order to nominate her.
This isn’t the first time that West went to bat for Ocean. In August, West went on Twitter to call for Ocean’s songs to be played on the radio in order to “make the world better.”
“If anyone at radio really loves music … Come together and pick your favorite Frank Ocean song and play it at least 10 times a day,” he wrote.

Ask yourself Why did you love music in the first place and what can you do to add to the story.
