Kanye West Parts Ways with Tidal Over Money Dispute

Kanye West

It looks like Kanye West is still trying to get his money right. The Chicago reppin’ emcee has complained that the music streaming company owned by Jay-Z, Tidal owes him money. West has left the company after claiming that they owe him more than $3 million.West was suppose to get a bonus from Tidal after his The Life of Pablo album brought in 1 1/2 million new subscribers. Kanye also says that Tidal has reneged on reimbursing him for music videos that he paid for on his own.

Tidal has threatened to sue Kanye if he goes to another streaming service. At the moment he isn’t looking to go to any other streaming services any time soon. Kanye West isn’t interested in Spotify, Apple, or any other streaming platforms. It has been said that West would like his music to be available on as many music platforms as possible and would like to avoid limited access.

Kanye set out to split from Tidal over 2 weeks ago. Somehow the news did not hit the media until after Jay-Z’s lyrics that are said to be a diss to West were unveiled on Jay-Z’s new album ,4:44 that was released last week .

“I know people backstab you, I feel bad too / But this f*** everybody attitude ain’t natural / But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe / But you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye / You gave him 20 million without thinkin’ / He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f*** was he thinkin’? / ‘F*** wrong with everybody?’ is what you sayin’ / But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane” on Jay-Z’s new 4:44 album.

It looks like hip-hop has another Birdman and Lil Wayne situation on it’s hands. Stay logged on to gripmagazine.com to see how this story unfolds.
