In spite of Jada Pinkett-Smith’s rant on Twitter last week discrediting the details of her relationship with Tupac Shakur in his biopic All Eyez on Me, the actress who portrayed her, Kat Graham, said in a recent red carpet interview with E-Online that the Set It Off actress had ample opportunity to add her two cents to the film.
Forgive me… my relationship to Pac is too precious to me for the scenes in All Eyez On Me to stand as truth.

Pac never read me that poem. I didn’t know that poem existed until it was printed in his book.

I’ve never been to any of Pac’s shows by his request. We never had an argument backstage.

To @KatGraham and @Dshippjr this is no fault of yours. Thank you for bringing so much heart and spirit to your roles.

“When I first got the role, I reached out to [Pinkett Smith] a year and a half ago…the point of reaching out to her, as well as the other producers on the film, was to insure the integrity of the story and the character.”
The Swiss-born actress added, “I even spoke to her last week and she had nothing but support. So I don’t know. You have to ask her.”
Despite Pinkett-Smith’s comments about the film, Graham said that she still has “a lot of love for her. I hope people just see the movie and make the choice for themselves.”
