Katt Williams escaped jail time but will have to undergo anger management classes for a year after pleading no contest Monday (April 17)  to a robbery charge stemming from a 2014 incident during which prosecutors say he and former Death Row Records CEO and music mogul Suge  Knight snatched a camera from a photographer.

The two reportedly became irate when the hounding paparazzi snapped a picture of Suge’s young son outside a Beverly Hills studio in 2014. The camera was taken as they tried to erase images of the child. The photographer, Leslie Redden, claimed she suffered a concussion after an associate of the men attacked her.

Katt Williams also received three years’ probation under the terms of the deal when he entered the plea to second-degree robbery, according to a statement by the Los Angeles district attorney’s office. He was facing up to seven years in prison.

Suge’s case in the incident remains open and he previously pled not guilty to the charge as well as the pending murder charge as he remains locked up while awaiting trial.
