Kevin Gates may be still on lockdown but that hasn’t stopped the Louisiana rapper from dropping new music. Kevin Gates gave the people some new heat called “What If” as he delivers more soulful street scriptures. On the track, Gates spits,
“Making calls to the plug/ I fell off then got up/ I’m standing tall no matter what/ Real nigga never budge/ Thinking y’all shall not judge when I stood in front the judge/ Media they telling lies about me that don’t matter much/ Hey now, turn it up.”
Kevin’s wife Dreka spoke to his fans on Instagram and told his peeps,
As previously reported, Kevin Gates was supposed to be released from a Florida jail last month (March), but instead of enjoying the sweet taste of freedom, the Baton Rogue, La. rapper was extradited to Illinois and now waits in a Chicago jail.
He was locked up for battery after kicking a female fan named Miranda Dixon during his concert at Rumors Nightclub in Lakeland, Fla. back in 2014 after she tugged at his shorts.
Upon his release, it turned out that Gates was wanted in Chicago for twice failing to appear in court on a gun case from 2013.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, he faces gun charges as well as “aggravated unlawful use of a weapon” charge. His rap sheet includes “several gun charges from 2013 in Illinois, including aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.” A spokesman for the Cook County State Attorney’s Office said that he is due in court on those charges on Sept. 22.
