Kodak Black Bans All Artists from Smoking Broccoli

In a video posted to Instagram today, Kodak Black reminded his audience that he invented the term broccoli as a reference for weed. After playing a clip of D.R.A.M.’s “Broccoli,” he turns down the music to express his disapproval.

“Man, what the fuck, man?” the Florida rapper says. “Who these niggas is jocking my lil’ swag, man, talking bout broccoli, man. Nah, I’m saying you niggas don’t smoke broccoli. Look for now on, man, I don’t smoke broccoli no more. I smoke cantaloupe since y’all square ass niggas tryna jack the swag. I smoke cantaloupe now.”

He then posted another video when he banned other artists from using the word broccoli altogether.

“You niggas can’t say broccoli no more,” he said. “You niggas gotta say spinach or some shit. You niggas don’t smoke broccoli; y’all smoke spinach.”

Kodak just may have a fair ax to grind, as he first used the broccoli as a reference for marijuana in 2014 in “No Flockin,” when he says: “Told the doctor I’m a healthy kid, I smoke broccoli.”

Never one to let a war of words pass him by, Lil Yachty, who is featured on D.R.A.M.’s hit song “Broccili,” responded to Mr. Black, saying: “Anytime before I perform the song Broccoli, I say shouts out to that nigga Kodak,” Yachty said. “Second of all, I don’t even smoke broccoli. I don’t give a fuck about weed. That’s just how it is. I ain’t never been no square ass nigga. I address shit how it is. I showed all my respect, but nigga I ain’t never been no square, nigga.”
