Kodak Black to Remain in Jail for at Least Another Week

Kodak Black has been behind the bars for two weeks now. Arrested on Feb. 28 for allegedly violating the terms of his house arrest, the Pompano Beach, Fla. rapper will remain on lockup for at least another 10 days, according to the Sun Sentinel.

The extended stay 19-year-old artist, whose real name is Dieuson Octave, is the result of a court appearance on Friday to determine whether there was enough evidence to consider him a “danger” to Broward County residents.

After no decision was made at the hearing, Broward Circuit Judge Michael Lynch scheduled a continuation for March 20.

Black’s probation officer, Sandy Friedman, was also in court describing his attitude in videos he posted online, where the rapper can be seen arguing about his court-mandated anger management classes. Walking into the building, he admits that he is running late for class. However, after entering the room, he argues with the person in charge that he is on time.

Black was arrested for violating probation following a court hearing  on Feb. 28. According to the Broward County, Fla. courthouse, he violated probation for charges stemming from a May arrest that include strong arm robbery, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm by a delinquent and fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement.

In the arrest warrant obtained by XXLKodak violated probation by “failing to remain confined to his approved residence except for one half hour before and after approved employment, public service work, or any other special activities approved by the officer” various times and dates since his initial bond release.

The warrant also states that evidence from pictures and video were used to showing that Kodak was at “various places that were not approved,” including a strip club called Club Lexx in Miami on or around Feb. 1 and Adrien Broner’s boxing match in Cincinnati, Ohio on Feb. 18.

Kodak has been working on new music, including the release of his latest single, “Tunnel Vision,” which currently sits at no. 27 on the Billboard charts and gearing up for his Back and Better tour.
