Ledisi Reveals Cover Art and Release Date for New Album ‘Let Love Rule’

Nine time Grammy nominated R&B singer and actress Ledisi is set to release her ninth studio album Let Love Rule. The powerhouse vocalist says she’s excited to share her new body of work after taking a 3 year  hiatus from her last project, The Truth in 2014. “I feel like Let Love Rule made me accept my position as a great singer fully.” Ledisi says. “All of my projects are pieces of me. This piece is the singer and the songwriter part of me. I’ve come back to what I love about R&B and also what I love about today’s music. I love my art in the middle of era’s and mixing those worlds together.”

The album’s first single, “High”, sets the tone for the album with its modern production, powerful vocals and honest message about love and self-celebration. The single, produced by DJ Camper (Mary J. Blige) and written by Ledisi along with Prince Charlez (Rihanna, Beyonce) and longtime collaborator Rex Rideout, is currently at #14 on Billboard’s Adult R&B charts and has been in heavy rotation on Urban AC radio stations across the country.

Ledisi is making a few high notes as an actress as well. She previously portrayed singer Mahalia Jackson in the Academy Award-nominated film Selma and will be starring in her first formal acting role, the upcoming Gabourey Sidibe-directed independent film, Tale of Four. The film is based on the Nina Simone classic, “Four Women”, and will be screening at this year’s Blackstar Film Festival in Philadelphia, PA.

Ledisi’s new album Let Love Rule is due out on September 22, via the Verve Record label.
