Lil Wayne has kicked off Summer 17 with a bang, by releasing four new songs.

The first freestyle takes Playboi Carti‘s infectious single,”Magnolia” and features Weezy putting his New Orleans flame on it, at one point even tapping into the old Hot Boyz rhyme style similar to the style they used on Big Tymer‘s “Get Your Roll On.” Weezy also took time to reflect on the track about everything from his arrest to shouting out Magnolia legend Soulja Slim. But it wasn’t all about the past, Wayne also drops more hints about the potential release for his longawaited Carter V album, while solidifying his recently announced alignment with Roc Nation, as he spits.

“Wait for Carter V to drop, It’s the Roc.”

Wezzy didn’t stop with the “Magnolia” freestyle, he also released three additional songs including “Loyalty,” featuring Gudda Gudda and HoodyBaby and produced by ChefBoy’RT@; “Mula Gang” featuring Jay Jones, HoodyBaby, and Euro and produced by R!O, Kamo, and Kaliphat; and “Fireworks” featuring Young Jeezy and produced by Mike Will Made-It.

No word on whether these songs will officially appear on Carter V or if a new album is in the works, but fans are rejoicing at the fact it seems the old lyrical Wayne is making a comeback.
