Fresh from the brand new, forthcoming soundtrack to Netflix, The Get Down Part II, DJ Cassidy gives us a reason to get on down (pun intended), on the dance floor on his new single, “Honor” featuring Grace and Lil Yachty.

The song showcases DJ Cassidy’s modern approach to old school disco music of the 70s up until the birth of Hip-Hop as fits the whole context of The Get Down’s core sound in every way. The Australian singer Grace delivers some outstanding vocals to song while Lil’ Yachty comes in rare form as he spits a beautifully written, romantic and reflective verse where he spits well delivered bars like, “You probably think that I’m losin’ it/’Cause I will f**k up so easily/You would listen to my lies and go believe in me/’Cause honestly you couldn’t think of ever leavin’ me.”

While Lil’ Boat has also just finished working on his forthcoming debut album, Teenage Emotions, he is also gearing up to be a guest on George Lopezs new show, Lopez. Legendary manager and Quality Control head, Coach K posted a clip of the episode on Instagram where Lopez walks into his house to see Yachty doing an interview with his friend and gets kicked out.

The episode will air on Nick at Nite on Wednesday, April 12 at 10:30 pm.

In the meantime, check out The Get Down Part II soundtrack when it drops on April 14 on all streaming services and digital markets. You can pre-order it right here.
