Lil Yatchy Named Brand Ambassador for Nautica x Urban Outfitters Capsule Collection

Lil Yachty has been named brand ambassador for Nautica’s capsule collection with Urban Outfitters. He will be featured in campaigns and advertising events to give a little sauce to the brand that’s hoping to revamp its popularity. The collection will include nostalgic 90s-styled apparel including windbreaker material pullover hoodies, track jackets and pants as well as t-shirts and sweatshirts, taking it back to a time of prosperity for the brand.

Yachty a.k.a. “Lil Boat” is the perfect artist to take on the ambassador role due to the fact he’s been rocking Nautica gear for years, way before he got on. It makes sense for him to be fashionably inclined to wear the seafaring-themed brand who’s logo (a boat) symbolizes his alter ego.

In an Instagram post earlier this year, he captioned “Ion know why Nautica just don’t sponsor me” while stuntin’ on a black BMW in full Nautica threads, down to the socks.

Just recently, Lil Yachty posted a picture with a kiss from Nautica president Karen Murray on his Instagram captioned, “New Bae”, a prelude to his involvement with the brand. It seems like the fashion Gods were listening.

Nautica president Murray describes the new collection as “a great way for us to showcase our heritage in a way that is relevant and current, while tapping into a very prominent vintage trend.” Murray and Nautica are right on time with their new fashion venture featuring the self-proclaimed “King of Teens,” one of the hottest young rappers out who represents a fresh style of trap rap meant to incite good vibes and excitement. Not to mention the fact Urban Outfitters is the authority in hipster fashion, focusing on youth underground trends that translate into a grunge chic reminiscent of the 90’s era, the age in which the millennial rapper grew up.

The newly famous rapper seems to have many fashionable endeavors coming in his near future, sporting garments from Gucci to Balenciaga and being featured in several industry fashion mags from Dazed to W.
