M.U.R.A.L, formerly known as the Lupe Fiasco Foundation is a midwest based organization founded on Chicago’s West-side, the same neighborhood where Fiasco and his sister, Executive Director Ayesha Jaco grew up. The foundation aims to serve inner city youth through academic advancement opportunities, health awareness, anti-violence initiative, community service and more. One key initiative of the M.U.R.A.L. is the Food Justice program. Since 2010, the Food Justice programs have provided programming, funding and assistance that has allowed over 5000 inner-city residents to receive greater access to healthy foods and knowledge.

M.U.R.A.L. was founded in 2009, and stands for Magnifying Urban Realities & Affecting Lives. It is a uniquely interdisciplinary, grassroots-driven organization that works to inspire and unite Chicago communities and their youth by providing transformative resources and platforms that are in short supply or unavailable. The Foundation pursues three key initiatives — including food justice, the creation and implementation of hip-hop scholars, and youth empowerment funding to equip youth with the tools to discuss issues such as food access, health, violence and values can effect positive change for them and their communities.
