Well-known Houston exotic dancer Maliah Michel was not at all appreciative of having her “jersey” retired by Drake during his annual Houston Appreciation Weekend this past weekend.
Michel, along with fellow strippers Lira Galore and Miracle Watts, were the honorees at Drake’s retirement party in their honor. During the ceremony, jerseys bearing their names were hoisted into the rafters along with a faux Larry O’Brien Trophy. Drizzy also gifted the ladies with gift bags from Louis Vuitton.
Afterwards, Galore took to social media to show her appreciation. “Wow , made strip club history tonight. Got in , got out .. STILL relevant ♀️S/O to the BOY !! @Drake,” she posted on Twitter.

Michel, however, did not share that same sentiment. And she took to social media to let the world know exactly where she stands.
“Contrary to ‘social media news’ no man can retire me,” Michel wrote in an Instagram post. “I’m shaking this azz into a wheel chair. Maliah will retire Maliah.”
Following her Instagram post, Michel then took to Twitter to get a few things off her chest in a series of tweets:
Y’all don’t know that nigga been trying to make me stop dancing. Always putting me down about it.

Always telling me I’m not better than anyone else in the club selling ass instead of dancing. But nigga can’t stay out the club

Y’all just don’t know. My only regret is ever trying to explain how much I love dancing. And thinking so highly of him

That I let his opinion of me mold my opinion of myself. Fuck that and fuck you if you got a problem

I remember pleading with him to understand. I said Beyoncé wears the same kind of stuff I wear
— Maliah Michel (@IAmMaliahMichel) July 24, 2017
This nigga got mad and told me not to compare myself to Beyoncé
— Maliah Michel (@IAmMaliahMichel) July 24, 2017
Bitch wha?! Don’t you ever tell me not to compare myself to Beyoncé! I’m a woman that’s what we do!!
— Maliah Michel (@IAmMaliahMichel) July 24, 2017
No matter how light I tried to make things. Just always mean and hurtful. But whatever I’m done
— Maliah Michel (@IAmMaliahMichel) July 24, 2017
Yeah whatever I love Beyoncé almost every man woman and child between the ages of 5 and 50 have been her once in their mind

And when I’m on stage of course that’s who inspires me as well as others.

Apparently, Drake and Maliah have been knowing each other for quite some time now. He mentions her on “Miss Me” from his debut studio album Thank Me Later, saying: “I’m in the city of the purple Sprite/Someone tell Maliah I’m on fire, she should work tonight.”
She also was the leading lady in his “Find Your Love” video, from the same album. See video below.
