Master P Talks About Origins of No Limit, Music Business and Next Phase of NL at A3C
Music mogul Master P talked about the origins of No Limit Records, the business side of hip hop and his next move during A Conversation with Percy “Master P” Miller panel discussion at A3C this past weekend.
There is a very short list of hip hop heads who have ascended to the level of music moguls. Master P is among that elite list. Not only did Percy Miller help to change the game from his New Orleans breeding grounds, he constructed an empire called No Limit Records that dominated rap music in the late 1990s.
Master P told his throng of fans about the embryonic stages of the label, the journey from impoverishment to industry riches, the triumphs and tragedies along the way – including the murder case involving his brother C Murder.
Too Short also regaled the audience with his journey from the Bay Area to become one of the most popular emcees of the late 80s and he also discussed the social injustices of the day, particularly as it has to do with police brutality.
