The ever-flawless fashionista FLOTUS Michelle Obama shines as she gives us another amazing look to remember at the last state dinner of the Obama presidency.
She went out with a bang in her shimmering custom-made haute couture gown from Atelier Versace as she and Mr. President hosted the dinner for honorary guests Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and his wife.
The First Lady has been cited for her stylish ensembles since Barack Obama took office in 2008. Seen in chic garments from Vera Wang to Alexander McQueen, she is hands down the most fashionable FLOTUS that has ever graced the White House.
The Versace creation Mrs. Obama adorned was precisely cut and draped, featuring a form-fitted, floor-length silhouette with ruching at the hip. The asymmetrical off-the-shoulder gown made of rose gold chainmail material shimmered as lights flashed from the paparazzi cameras.
The label’s designer Donatella Versace, who made the dress especially for Mrs. Obama” noted, “I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to dress the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama. Thank you Michelle for all the things you did for America and for the rest of the world, for the women in the U.S. and the rest of the world.”
There’s no question Michelle Obama has had significant influence in the world during the presidency, much like her husband. She grabbed the nation’s attention and respect through her insightful speeches, proactive community initiatives and breath-taking fashion choices. She really is a boss in her own right and encourages other women to do the same.
Speculations surrounded Michelle Obama wearing Gucci, the highest selling fashion brand in Italy, or Armani, seeing that Giorgio Armani himself was among the list of special celebrity guests for the event. Instead, she chose Versace, one of the most prestigious Italian fashion labels in the industry, taken over by Donatella Versace the sister of Gianni Versace who initially started the brand.
Since her takeover, Donatella has been pushing the strength and glam of females all over the world and supports the rising of women in business and society, much like Michelle.
The First Lady tailored her garment selection for previous state dinners very carefully to match the cultural influence of her guests. Top notch designers and those with little notoriety have been gracefully broadcast by the First Lady in order to pay tribute to the cultural norms from the home country of her guests.
Seeing that she was hosting an evening for the Italian prime minister who is very passionate about promoting the fashion industry, it was only fitting for the First Lady to show up in one of Italy’s most successful brands.
