Respected as a Godfather-like figure in the streets of Baton Rouge, Mista Cain specializes in honest, slick, Southern-fried rap music. Locking into the snare drums with a metronomic flow, Mista Cain drops “Strangers”  and explains why he doesn’t need new friends. On the track with an assist from Starlito, he spits,

“Every mornin’ I’m up early homie, every hour count/I do this for all my patnas selling every powdered ounce/In prison in the system where it’s easy to get lost/N***a* f**k your dead homie if you see me first, get off.”

The “Strangers” video depicts a robbery gone wrong, as Cain and Lito mob in a warehouse with large automatic weapons. With an excellent, minimalist instrumental from New Orleans rapper/producer Mouse On Tha Track that evokes the iconic beat from Young Dro’s “Shoulder Lean,” “Strangers” is a highlight from Tha Verdict, Mista Cain’s recent album that chronicles his arrest, trial, and acquittal for homicide.

As previously reported, The Verdict debuted in March as Mista Cain’s official studio debut. The project is a heartfelt collection of street tales, marked by honest observations, memorable banalities, and frank details about life in Baton Rouge. Featuring appearances from Boosie Badazz, Young Dolph, Starlito, Trouble,  and Chrizz Michaels, Tha Verdict is also packed with quality production from the likes of Mouse On The Track, Jon Boii, June James (Key to the Streets), and others.
